Hi bloggers James here, at the start of the first term we went swimming at Cameron pools and we practised streamline, floating on our back, floating on my front, backstroke and freestyle . The first week we Practised entering the pool safely by not making any splashes and we did some freestyle as well. I learnt that when we are in the ocean and we can't touch the ground you always need to wear a life jacket when ever you go on a boat in case you fall out and the boat sinks. I am really good at freestyle and backstroke but last year I always struggled with my backstroke and freestyle but this year I am getting better and better at backstroke and freestyle. Now my 3rd favourite thing is to do freestyle at Cameron pools and at school. I only missed swimming once but the other times I would always bring my togs and tell my teacher in the morning.
This is my swimming group and Richard is a good listener.
Another swimming group about to freestyle back to the end.
snorkelling on the deep side.

Summer learning journey
My name is James and I play rugby at Mt albert lions under 10s open. I think following my dreams is so cool so I can make it into All blacks or the hurricanes. I loved playing rugby when I was under 9s gold and I always watched Beauden Barret play against the wallabies.
My favourite rugby player is Beauden Barrett
Beauden Barrett is a fly-half for Taranaki and the Wellington based super rugby side the Hurricans, and for New Zealand's national team the All blacks. He was I key member of the 2015 rugby world cup winning team. Beauden Barret also played fullback and wing as demonstrated with Taranaki and All blacks. In 2016 and 2017, he won the world rugby cup player of the day award, and is the only second player to win the back-to-back years. He considered by many to be the best currently-active rugby player in the world. Barret has played at under-20 and sevens levels for New Zealand before being called into the All blacks' training squad in may 2012 and made his international debut as a replacement in the final test against Ireland in Hamilton, when he kicked nine points. He debuted for Taranaki in 2010, and debuted in super rugby with the Hurricanes in 2011.

My favourite time of this year
My favourite time was when we went to camp at Mt ruapehu until Friday when we went in the bus for the first few stops before we got to our hotel that we are sleeping and eating at and the hotel was near Mt ruapehu that's why we got up there early so we can get more rides then public people coming. I loved eating the food that never had before in my whole life like lasania, potato salad, chicken and chocolate fudge. I loved skiing from the top of happy valley to the bottom so I can comeback up on the two seated chair lift back all the way back up to the top. The first day that we went to Mt ruapehu and had to wait in a long line to get all the gear that we needed to ski for the last two days until we go back home and sleep in in the weekends. I wished that I could stay there until the summer holiday.
I really loved making new friends at camp with other students like the girls in Te Waka Ako. feel free to leave a comment. BLOG YOU LATER
Six thinking hats
Talofa lava bloggers, last week we had to write about what happened at the gala day. The six colour were white, red, yellow, blue, green and black.
The white hat is about some facts about the gala day and when, were, why, what and who, what happened at celebration day.
The red hat is about how was I felling when I arrived at school for the gala day and how did I feel the whole process of the celebration gala day.
The yellow hat is about what were the positives of the gala day and what were the values of it for me and the others.
The green hat is about what were the positives for me now and what changes would I have made to the celebration day.
The black hat is about what were the negative things that happened at the gala day and what are the disadvantages of running a large celebration day.
Blue hat is about where were we at the end of the celebration gala day and what do we need to think before we organise the next gala celebration day.
It was really hard because I didn't really know about what the question is telling me to write in the text box. I think that it turned out really well because we had more q's from the last community barbecue.Feel free to leave a comment. BLOG YOU LATER

Gala celebration product
Talofa bloggers James here, for inquiry we were making re-use-able tote bags so when you go to countdown or other shops you can use your tote bag and so no to plastic bags. We are making tote bags because we are having a celebration day their will be performances games and food to eat as well. I'm learning how to sew and how to use fabric to make bags.It was awesome because I was confident to sew my 2nd bag then I got used to it so when I get older I can start my own shop of making tote bags.
The bad part was when we had to sew in a square to secure the straps so it doesn't rip apart. The good part was when I was going fast and furious on the sewing machine so I can get five or four bags done before the celebration gala day on a Saturday. The challenging part was pining because pins kept on pricking me in the thumb and fingers. It made me think sewing was a good experience for me because it was my first time sewing in my whole life. Tote bags are related to sustainability because you re-use the bag how many times you want. Feel free to leave a comment. BLOG YOU LATER

FINDING FABRIC TO SEW.
The process
Step 1 pin your bag then cut how big you want your bag to be.
Step 2 use pins to pin both fabric together then go on a sewing machine and start sewing until you get back to the top.Step 3 turn the bag inside out then cut all the threads in the inside.Step 4 cut off all the threads that are hanging out, then cut out straps 70-cm and then pin both straps onto the bag 6-cm is how long it can go to be the same amount then sew the straps then sew in a square to keep the straps secured to it doesn't fall apart. It will look like this then it would have to be iron then it will look beautiful.

READING SLIDESHOW
HERO Talofa bloggers, In reading we were given a book to read and then we had to retell the whole story. After that we had to go on build your wild self to make the main character and the minor characters in the story. Then we had to build were it was set in the story. What the vocabulary in the story that I didn't know what it means I checked on the dictionary online because the word that I didn't know wasn't on the dictionary book. The challenging thing was trying to build a dog on build your wild self the activity that I liked was when I build a house from Tinker cad. The next day we had to share with a group of students from other classes. The book was about forgiveness and honesty.
It was fun reading the book hero because it had people telling a little boy about there past. I liked the part when Grizzly a neighbour telling him why do they call him grizzly. The other part that I liked was when jack pepper (the dog) still wanted to walk with Leo when jack pepper got hurt. Feel free to leave a comment, BLOG YOU LATER.
