Summer learning journey

My name is James and I play rugby at Mt albert lions under 10s open. I think following my dreams is so cool so I can make it into All blacks or the hurricanes. I loved playing rugby when I was under 9s gold and I always watched Beauden Barret play against the wallabies.

My favourite rugby player is Beauden Barrett
Beauden Barrett is a fly-half for Taranaki and the Wellington based super rugby side the Hurricans, and for New Zealand's national team the All blacks. He was I key member of the 2015 rugby world cup winning team. Beauden Barret also played fullback and wing as demonstrated with Taranaki and All blacks. In 2016 and 2017, he won the world rugby cup player of the day award, and is the only second player to win the back-to-back years. He considered by many to be the best currently-active rugby player in the world. Barret has played at under-20 and sevens levels for New Zealand before being called into the All blacks' training squad in may 2012 and made his international debut as a replacement in the final test against Ireland in Hamilton, when he kicked nine points. He debuted for Taranaki  in 2010, and debuted in super rugby with the Hurricanes in 2011.

  1. Kia ora James,

My name is Megan, and I will be one of the people blogging with you this summer for the Summer Learning Journey. Wow, what an awesome post you have created about Beauden Barrett. I am always inspired by Barrett's leadership skills. Often he has a clear path to the try line but often passes the ball to another player so they can have the credit for the try. This is such a humble thing to do and will take him far as a leader for the All Blacks. Thank you for sharing this awesome information.
